Why are my gums bleeding?

Healthy normal gums don’t really bleed. Bleeding gums is a sign of gingivitis or gum inflammation. It's a common and mild form of gum disease, and it's caused by a buildup of plaque along the gum line. If you have gingivitis, your gums may look red, swollen, and irritated. They may also bleed when you brush or floss your teeth.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks, and we recommend seeking a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner before proceeding.
