What is the treatment of gum disease?

Treatment and management of your gum disease will depend on how advanced it is and how much damage it has caused. It’s important to treat gum disease, even in the early stages.
Untreated gum disease will not only progress in your mouth but can also have an effect on your general health.

Mild gum disease can often be treated with an improved commitment to good oral hygiene habits and the use of antimicrobial mouthwash. Moderate to advanced gum disease may require a deep cleaning treatment known as scaling and root debridement.

For more advanced care, you may be referred to a Periodontist if the condition needs intensive treatment and management.

If you are concerned that you might have periodontal disease, call our office today at 9436 3347 so we can start the treatment.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks, and we recommend seeking a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner before proceeding.
